About Your Massage or Bodywork Session...
What Should I Expect During the Session? This is your time to relax and escape. Please turn off your cell phone and pager. Many people just close their eyes and completely relax. Others like to talk during their session. If you have questions about the work in general or about the particular technique you are receiving please feel free to ask.
Some bodywork is performed with you fully dressed. For Massage or a combined treatment you will be asked to undress to your comfort level to allow access to muscles. You will then be left alone in the room to undress, relax onto the table, and cover yourself with a clean sheet. Throughout the session, you will be properly draped or covered so that only the body part that is being worked on is exposed. A light oil or lotion will be applied to prevent excess friction on the skin. You will be gently moved or prompted when you need to move and when it is time to turn over.
Where Will My Session Take Place? Your massage or bodywork session will take place in a warm, comfortable, quiet room. Soft music will be played to help you relax while you lie on a table designed for your comfort.
How Will I Feel Afterward? Most people feel very relaxed. Some experience freedom from long-term aches and pains developed from tension or repetitive activity. After an initial period of feeling slowed down, people often experience increased energy, heightened awareness, and greater productivity which can last for days. It is recommended that you take an Epsom Salt bath and drink plenty of water following the massage.
How Long is a Session? Typical sessions are 1 hour, but some clients enjoy 30 or 90 minutes.
